Andoia Advisory Ltd is an independent specialist export control advisory firm based in Cyprus, with a focus on aviation, aerospace and defence.

The firm supports clients internationally on export control matters where technical understanding, regulatory knowledge and sound judgement need to come together.

Thomas

Thomas brings together experience in aircraft maintenance, international law, export compliance and programme work in aviation and defence. His programme experience includes the A400M, Eurofighter, FCAS and the Lockheed Martin P-3C.

A recurring theme throughout his work has been an interest in difficult subjects and in making them understandable. That approach also shapes Andoia’s work today. The objective is to understand the matter properly, identify what is relevant and explain the reasoning in a way that clients can use.

His professional path started close to the aircraft itself, in maintenance. That technical background continues to influence the way he approaches export control today. A component, a drawing, a repair activity or a technology transfer is not only a regulatory question. There is also a product, an engineering context and an operation behind it.

Aviation remains the environment he knows best and one he feels closely connected to.

Export control is a natural fit for that. The rules can be demanding, but the real value of advice lies in helping people understand what they mean for their products, their work and the choices in front of them.

That thinking played an important part in founding Andoia. I wanted to build an advisory firm where technical knowledge and regulatory analysis lead to advice that people can actually understand and use.

When a difficult export control matter arises, my aim is for the client to understand where they stand and what the next step can be.
